Description

The successful applicant should have a strong engineer/technical background and will be responsible for all aspects of pre-sales and post sales related to technical areas. His or her activities will consist in: Understanding the CR cybersecurity offer, analyzing the customer’s technological requirements, creating proposals in line with customer’s needs, discussing details with customers/suppliers and CR internal developers. The CR solutions are based on cybersecurity alerting systems. For this reason, strong analytical skills along with security incidents handling knowledge are required. Client facing skills are essential with good planning, coordination, technical writing and technical report presentation.

Responsibilities

Develop a deep product knowledge of all Cyber Resilience’s services and architecture skills by participation in ongoing product and skill training opportunities provided by Cyber Resilience head office. In addition to training, cybersecurity consultant will be expected to master the following topics:

  • Run technical presentations at prospects’ site or during events.

  • Help the Sales team understand the customers’ needs and build technical proposals.

  • Run Proof Of Concepts (POC), pilot projects or Gap/Risk Analysis.

  • Follow up with customers for solution deployments/integrations, resolution of technical issues or new feature requests.

  • Interact internally with the Research and Development Team and provide technical feedback from the field.

  • Perform operational tasks including regular controls and alerts reviews along with developing and maintaining tools or reports that will allow existing tasks to be automated or optimized.

  • Technical report preparation based on security alerts and presentation to customers.

Required Qualifications

  • A first experience working in customer-facing roles as a Security Consultant, System Integrator, etc. Junior candidates with technical background in cyber security are accepted.

  • Experience using automated tools and search engines collecting information.

  • Experience of scripting (e.g. Python, JavaScript).

  • Good knowledge of information and network security concepts.

  • Good understanding of complex networks, protocols and networking technologies.

  • Good command of French and English (written and verbal) and presentation skills.

  • Good problem identification and solving skills, dedicated to achieving goals, strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and to justify them, excellent organizational skills, methodical and discreet.

  • Strong team player, eager to share information with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in computer systems or telecommunications.

  • Familiarity with OSINT, SOCMINT, Cloud Protection, Brand Protection, Threat Detection, Cyber Threat Intelligence.

  • Knowledge of Internet world (clear, deep and dark web).

Description

Cyber Resilience sales specialist use technical and product knowledge in IT security to advise and guide customers in implementing Cyber Security solutions.

 

As an IT security sales professional, you will usually work with commercial clients, finding the right technological solution and services to suit their business needs in IT security.

 

In pre-sales, this may involve demonstrating features of a particular platform then running a Proof of Concept (POC) with the contribution of Cyber Resilience analysts. It may also mean responding to a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) and then, if short listed, replying to a more detailed information to tender (ITT) document.

The Types of IT security sales

The work of a Cyber security sales professional falls into three main areas:

  • pre-sales - giving detailed information about platform and services specifications and the ways in which they could meet a customer's needs

  • Motivate the customers to run a Proof of Concept

  • sales - negotiating a commercial agreement to the benefit of both the customer and supplier

  • post-sales (or after-sales) – Attend the services review sessions to make sure Cyber Resilience meets the customer’s needs and guarantee service yearly renewals.

 

Responsibilities

As a Cyber security sales professional, you will need to:

  • speak to customers, either face to face, over the phone or webinars

  • gain an understanding of customers' diverse and specific security needs and apply service knowledge to meet them

  • carry out cold-calling in order to create interest in Cyber security services, generate new business leads and arrange meetings

  • identify and develop new business through networking and follow-up courtesy calls

  • prepare and deliver presentations of Cyber security solutions to customers

  • market and promote a portfolio of Cyber security services

  • develop effective sales plans using sales methodology

  • provide technical advice to customers on all aspects of the Cyber security arena both before and after the sale

  • advise on Cyber security solutions features and how they can be applied to assist in a variety of contexts such as accounting, manufacturing or other areas

  • meet sales targets set by managers and contribute to team targets

  • network with existing customers in order to maintain links and promote additional services

  • respond to tender documents, proposals, reports and supporting literature

  • manage workload in order to organise and prioritise daily and weekly goals

  • contribute to team or progress meetings to update and inform colleagues.

Salary

  • Starting salaries for IT sales professionals are around CHF 80,000 to CHF 90,000.

  • With experience your salary can rise to between CHF 90,000 and CHF100,000.

 

We offer performance-related bonuses on top of a base salary, called OTE (on-target earnings).

 

A company car (or car allowance) may be provided when regular travel will be required. You will also receive a laptop and mobile phone.

 

Working hours

Working hours are typically 9am to 6pm, putting in extra hours where approaching deadlines require them. You might be required to work longer days to prepare for social evenings and conferences, where you'll network with potential customers.

Required Qualifications

This area of work is open to all graduates, but a degree in one of the following subjects may be particularly useful:

  • Cyber Security

  • Computer science/software engineering/computer engineering

 

While a relevant degree is not always essential, subjects with Cyber security content may be favored.

A pre-entry postgraduate qualification is not essential, but a diploma or Masters in IT security may be helpful for those without computing knowledge.

Experience in selling IT and/or managed services will improve your chances of securing the job. It would be a plus if you can demonstrate evidence of exceeding sales targets and the ability to build successful customer relationships in previous roles.

 

Any sales experience may therefore be helpful, including working in a call centre or telemarketing role, where sales skills and the ability to meet targets are illustrated.

 

Professional development

Training is likely to be intensive and in-house, aimed at giving you comprehensive technical knowledge of the IT security. You may also be expected to shadow a senior sales professional, quickly moving into your sales role and taking immediate responsibility for key clients.

 

Although a lot of the training is tailored to our company's own products and client group, there are also a variety of external training courses and qualifications available.

 

Taking up the many opportunities to attend conferences and industry events will aid in your learning and help you to further develop your knowledge in Cyber security.

 

Career prospects

With experience you could move on to a managerial or director role where you'll work at a more strategic level, often with responsibility for budgets and new partnerships in Cyber security.
